These ladies are recovering nicely from farrowing litters back in January. All had nice litters (see below). They would make a great choice to breed.
Proceeds from the sale of these girls will be used to pay the processing fee for the two going to The Corner Table in Newton, NC. The Corner Table feeds on average 250 meals daily to those in need.
At Hog Hill Heritage, we are committed to providing the best possible customer experience. We would like to offer delivery service to your farm or processor if needed.
At Hog Hill Heritage, we're committed to sustainable and responsible farming practices. There is a reason the Mulefoot Hog is on the critically endangered list. Despite the fact that Mulefoot pork products win taste test hands down, it does however take another month or so to grow one. We cross modern production breeds with a good Mulefoot boar, like Junior here, and improve the taste of a faster growing feeder.
A good looking crossbreed sow, like "Big Momma" , when bred with "Junior", will give us 10-14 feeder piglets vs. 6-7 purebred Mulefoot piglets. The average backyard grower wants a feeder they can put in the freezer in 7 months or so. Big Momma and Junoir will give them one that taste so much better than your Chinese owned Walmart option.
Growing crossbreed piglets allows us to offer another quality Mulefoot product, that in turn helps cover the cost of sustaining the Mulefoot Hog. Sustaining the purebred Mulefoot Hog is our focus, finding creative ways to fund the project will always be a necessity.
